Dara had lost her house. It was cold the winter winds  where blowing as she sat agnist the walls of a building trying to stay warm. She was not wearing her coat her so and daughter where wearing that. They where huddled in her warm coat scarfs and a blanket as Dara layed in only her weak cotton dress. She was a good mother she thought keeping her children safe. She wanted to sleep so bad but she had to keep watch

The vagabond had been busy finishing a full day’s work at her latest employer’s restaurant, the chill of the cold air enough to make the small girl shiver as she stuffed her hands into her pockets. The large case behind her that held her guzheng kept Xiao-Mao’s back warm, and as she wandered throughout the snowy city she saw a familiar form that she was certain was worse off than she was. “… Dara..?”

She looked up seeing her friend. She was weak as she looked at her freind. “Xiao..” she said with a laugh “what brings you here.” she said weakly. Huojin woke up and went his mother’s side as she let out a cough that racked her small frame. As she looked at her hands they where red..red with blood. She tried to clean them as she embraced her son. “Hi honey are you warm.” he shook his head. “Ear cold mama.” she smiles warming her hands and placing them on his face.

The small joke failed to do its job as the sable-haired musician’s expression remained concerned as ever, mint-green eyes examining the small family as she began to wonder what had happened in the time that they hadn’t spoken with one another. Where was Sokka? Where was Dara’s home? What the hell happened?! Her hand clenched into a fist as she looked down at the firebender, her small fist shaking as she kept her hands in her pockets and tried to keep her cool; but it was getting difficult. “Dara… Dara, what happened? Tell me.”

Dara looked at her friend. “When the attacks on the city happened my house it got blown up so I am living here now. This allyway is my home until I can get out of the city.” She says with almost crying laugh. “Everything I have went up in smoke!”
